Welcome to Wellspring Tutoring & Mentoring Ltd. ©, founded by the Company Director, Lucy Meadowcroft after a successful 20-year teaching career in the U.K. Wellspring’s reputation spread and the company soon expanded online in order that it might meet the demands of more and more children and their families needing the support of an experienced Educator with a passion and heart for helping children who are struggling at school and/or with learning.
Including provision for additional learning needs, we always plan and personalize every lesson to suit our students. Following the National Curriculum to provide a broad, balanced approach our resources are varied and current, and always reflective of our multi-cultural society. We regularly ask our students for feedback so we can reflect, adapt and improve our provision to maintain a vibrant dynamic. Time is included in the provision for termly communication with parents, alongside regular assessment and feedback to ensure progress is evident.
Our young people’s Mental Health and Wellbeing is of paramount importance. We always hold our learner’s emotional, psychological and spiritual needs at the forefront of what we do. Most of all, many children and families we have positively affected are a testimony to Wellspring’s exceptional gift of inspiring children to be the best version of their unique and precious selves.

Wellspring Team:
Lucy Meadowcroft
Company Director / English, Media, Social Studies Tutor
“I love inspiring young people to engage with learning, due to my meaningful, authentic, and passionate approach… even the ones who think they can’t — well, I believe they can.”
“The task of the modern educator is not to cut down jungles, but to irrigate deserts…” C.S. Lewis
Lucy has been teaching English Literature and English Language from age 8 to 18 for over 20 years. She has also taught Sociology, Media Studies and Religious Education. "I never give up on a child; and, more to the point, I never let anyone else — mostly the child themselves. My approach is gentle, nurturing, patient, encouraging - Christ-Centered. My forte is being able to adapt my style to suit the audience, focusing on personalized learning for individual needs. Understanding challenging behaviour is one of my fortes. I know behind every 'behaviour' is a need — I never single out a child. I only ever 'enquire'".
“My approach is always calm, creative, supportive, positive and encouraging. My passion, my talent, my skill is all about the young people in my care — calling them out gently to see their potential.”
"Providing young people with suitable and personalized challenges to help the child be hungry for progress with their own motivation and self-reflection — this is my way."

Ryan Chivers
Maths Tutor
“I enjoy helping people develop their skills and succeed in maths.”
My experience of working in a school for neurodivergent children was especially rewarding. I understand how to work with students who are anxious or have a fixed mindset. I provide a positive experience through quickly building rapport, and by adapting the level of challenge to suit the individual; my goal is to make learning maths enjoyable.
My experience has covered teaching students with a wide range of ages and ability levels. I specialise in year 7 to year 11, with experience of helping students fill knowledge gaps from primary school and teaching A-level maths.
I really look forward to working with you, and supporting your maths learning.
